do you need to use a copper washer between the screw in brake hose and the disc caliper or can you just screw in the brake hose. Thanks

You need to use A copper washer on each side of the banjo bolt.

no banjo bolt is used with this setup, the brake hose just screws in the 73 Cuda caliper.

He is right a close fitting copper washer is required to seal the threaded brake pipe fitting in to the caliper
Take care to get the right ID and OD sizes.

I bought new brake lines and new front calipers. The copper washer came with the units.
