the lower bearing on the steering column has broke (after 40+ yrs). How do I get the pin at the end of the shaft for the coupling body to come out? I tried a 'c' clamp and propane torch, didn't work. Is it time to go to the machine shop?:eusa_eh:

Not site. Category. He moved it from where you posted the question to steering and suspension.

The roll pin that goes through the coupler? Should be able to get it out with a punch and hammer. A soke in some penetrating oil will help if it is stuck.

Other option is to pry back the other small pin in the coupler that holds the guts in.
