AM FM Thumbwheel radio ID help needed

The above is the pic of my 71 Cuda radio. It seems like Challengers had knobs.

The radio you are showing is an AM/FM.

The 70-71 ebody am fm radios were thumb wheels. 1972 on, the am fm radios had knobs.
As above, the 70-71 am radios had knobs and chrome buttons
1972 on all radios had black buttons.

Does anyone know if this head unit will fit in stock opening or was my dash cut?

If so is the lower dash replaceable or is it part of entire dash?

I have one out of a 72 Challenger, AM/FM and 8 track and has knobs.

I don’t believe that’s true, an R35 code car had a thumbwheel AM/ Stereo radio. 3-speaker dash

The E body opening is the standard 7 inch DIN opening. Your dash probably was not modified.
