Axle swap

Has anyone put an a body axle under an e-body? If so how much more wheel space would you gain

You don't want an A-Body Axle (most had a smaller 4" on 5 bolt pattern instead of the 4.5" on 5), You want a 65-67 B-Body axle. The B-Body axle is about two inches narrower and will require offset spring hangers or spring relocation kit.
