What was your process for getting to this stage? I know nothing about body work, but wanting to learn.

A whole lot of metal work to get it where the car sits now. I used chemical stripper to remove paint from everything but the new metal and them sprayed a 2k epoxy grey primer to keep it protected. There are some good posts on how to do bodywork and Google videos. I have already painted the engine compartment and trunk. I am really a newbie myself so I hate to give much "advice" as there are some real pros on this site.

Thanks! I've been searching online through forums and videos to try to learn different methods. Seems like chemical stripper is the easiest. I have a buddy that does soda blasting, but since I'm keeping the inter installed for this particular car, that's not really an option.

Great to see some one bring back a classic! Nothing like cutting the complete back half of a car and putting it back together, Great job!!!

I hate to admit it, but I am guilty of parting out two 71 Cudas back in the early eighties including my 340 four speed car pictured below. The front subframe rusted out on it and the other Cuda was really rough and crashed, but repairable.

Still plenty of work before I lay down another filler coat of primer, but it is starting to feel very nice!

I like the wheels too!! Lots of blocking and guide coats,If you have small imperfections a good high build primer will work great for those areas and when you block it will fill those in ! Good luck with your work! I like it! Ray

I am really trying to find all the imperfections now and not rely on the high build primer, but I realize that is kind of what the build up primer is for. If I see an imperfection now, I am fixing it.
