all,

what is the thickness of the carpet pad for a 70 challenger?
is the original type material still relevant good to use or is there an upgraded pad that is recommended?

Thanks in advance.

I think the jute padding is sufficient, for padding. Not for noise and insulation from heat. Under the carpet you can use a sound deadening material like Dynamat, or similar product.

You can get carpet with the jute padding already attached (it costs more) and if you want extra heat/sound proofing then do as Adam suggests and stick Dynamat to the floor before putting the carpet in.
