I little while back I noticed my car starting to sag to the ground on the driver side. Well now it is like slammed to the ground.
The brake system on the car is all new. I replaced the original shocks yesterday and the car does the same thing.
The torsion bars looked fine and I didn't think it was them, not broke and are in place.
I think maybe the strut rod is an issue?
When I have my car jacked up in the air and lift the front driver wheel it will move and down with ease. This should not be the case

New shocks or struts will do nothing to correct this condition. Check the T-bar and its socket in the frame support. The socket could be broken or rusted loose.

Ok will get them swapped out. I am betting the socket or something like that is an issue. This car is rusty and I mean rusty, this car has been weathered hard by the new jersey winters. I have plenty of rust repair to do so I am sure that is the issue.
I am going to get it up in the air when I get back off vacation to get a better look at things.

I appreciate the help

A torsion bar that snapped on me sounded like an M-80 when it let go and the car dropped like a rock right now.
IMO, gradual sounds more like rusty socket twist if its the front. Remote chance the adjuster bolt or control arm has failed.

I finally got around to working on this. The driver side T bar was snapped.
Swapped both driver and passenger and the car still sits low like it did before
all leaning to the driver side.

Take some pics. You may need to work on the crossmember the bars mount in.

Maybe the anchor key needs to move a couple notches counter clockwise and reinsert the bar...
Looked under my '69 charger and it is in a different spot.

Did you have the LCA hanging in its lowest position when you put in the t-bar? Did you also have the adjusting bolt and cam in its lowest position? Make sure you lube up that adjusting bolt. Is the rear t-bar socket solid and in good shape?

The car was up in the air on jack stands. Frame supported. Suspension Hanging. The adjusting bolt was loose.
One of the pic that shows the socket and arm is how the car was when I got it up in the air.
The rear sockets are in good shape.

The adjusting bolt cam/arm looks to be too high. Did you have it rotated down when the t-bar was put into the socket?

I think that is the issue moparlee. I need to rotate it and then insert the bar.
Wont get to it today. Will give it another shot tomorrow.

PB Blast that adjust bolt/nut. Turn the bolt out/down till only the ball end sticks out. Pry that arm back down to the ball end. If needed, lift the upper control arm off the bump stop and remove the bumper to gain more LCA drop.
