Are the original OEM door sill plates much thicker aluminum and better quality than the reproduction sill plates?

I ran into the same problem. Check the quarter panel rocker panel attach lips...I had to trim that flange about 3/8 of an inch on both sides in order to get both of them to fit...

What I’d like to know is, are the original OEM sill plates better quality and thicker material than all the aftermarket flimsy sill plates. The aftermarket sill plates seem to bend and scratch easily?

I did notice the reproduction door sill plates were made of a thinner/softer material. Also they do appear to scratch pretty easily. I their defence any anodised polished aluminium is fairly easy to mark.
I have to be careful getting in and out to not drag my shoes across them and leave little fine scratches.
I kept my original ones but too much money to have them restored.
However they fitted and appearance wise they were good.
