Hello,

Ive recently pulled the drive shaft out of my challenger T/A and stripped the paint off of it. I found a part number 2883600. Ive been unable to locate this part number in the 70-74 parts book. It has the correct 7290 u joints and measures about 45.60" center of u-joint to u-joint. I believe it should have a 2883782 which would measure out at 45.85" per the part book. I don't believe this difference in length would really matter but I am curious what car this is correct for? It also has a H9 stamped near the part number that could be a date code? Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the info, do you know if the driveshaft would have had the whole assembly part number stamped anywhere? Or possibly it was an ink stamp?

The part number and date codes are stamped about 24 inches from the rear joint. Here's a pic of the original from my T/A with the 2883782 number with a C 70 date code. Trans Am cars (and some others I believe) had 7260 u-joints in front and 7290 in the rear.

It’s in the car now, but when I was restoring it I measured and it matched Galen’s White Book description.
