flex plate bolts/transmission install

I am trying to reinstall my AT transmission (I did not remove it) and I discovered i'm missing the bolts for the flex plate. my car is a 70 challenger with a 360 crate engine.

can anyone tell me the size bolts that i will need to bolt the flex plate to the torque converter?

i'm also struggling to marry the transmission to engine. seems I may need to tip the engine a bit towards the back. i don't seem to see where I can jack the front of engine to accomplish this. is this possible to do?

I will just tell you to be VERY careful about what length bolt you use. The threaded pads on the torque converters aren't all equal thickness. I had my trans rebuilt and put in a new converter last year and the new flexplate bolts they gave me were about 1 1/2 thread too long. they bottomed out against the stamped body and then I cinched them up. That jammed the bolt into the body and cracked the weld on the pad to the body, which let go at 4500 rpm after 50 miles. Luckily the trans didn't get hurt and it only cost me a trailer rental to get it fixed, but it is an important detail. Put the bolts in the converter first and make sure the head seat before they bottom out. Grind to fit as needed. They are 5/16" NC and length will be just less than the pads welded on the converter.
