Hood hinge springs

Hey guys,
maybe i am missing something here...
I tried to buy new hood hinge springs for a standard rallye hood and checked all the common shops.
I only found springs for fiberglass hoods with the note "for show only".
Is there a reason that i cant find a simple spring set? Dont want to buy whole new hinges here...
