How to lower stock bucket seats, floor pan or what replacement seats can be used temporarily?

Hi All,
I'm restoring a 1972 Cuda, I got my stock seat reupholstered and now I can't even sit on the car. I'm 6'4" and know the new carpet and seat foam have pushed up. I need advice, options, on how to fix this situation. I'll consider replacing the seat with a non-stock one so I can drive if there is such a thing. I believe I'll need metal fabrication to correct in the end, however I should you appreciate and advice in the meantime.

Use washers between the seat frames and carpet on the front two mounting studs. You might need longer studs in the front frame rails to get the results you need. What you're doing with the washers is rotating the entire seat back rearward and front on the seat upward. Shouldn't need much as I'm 6'3" and I barely have clearance between my head and the headliner. A smaller steering wheel (think tuff wheel) might be needed for leg clearance.

Also go with an Ididit tilt steering column and a 14" D shaped steering wheel, Makes a ton of difference for sure, I have done 3 resorations in the last couple years and did this mod to all., Great results.

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what steering wheel components to buy that will put the smaller 14" Tuff Steering wheel correctly on my stock column, I'd like to try this first not sure which components to buy from whatever vendor? Thank you again for the help and advice.

I’m looking for a 14” black leather 3 spoke slotted or solid spoke wheel for my Cuda. I want one that’s pretty basic, but kinda classy. Any suggestions, maybe a photo of yours. Many thanks in advance for your help.
