I got my car with the headliner removed so I'm curious to see how the sail panel fits. Does anyone have any pictures or procedures for installing new interior sail panels for a 1973 Cuda? Do you wrap the new panel? What is the lower set of teeth for? Headliner first?

from memory, the sail panels go on after the headliner is installed, and before surrounding trim.

the lower edge lays into a track, and there is a single clip fastener at the center that pops into a hole of the underlying sheet metal and "tacks" the panel in place.

after this, the side and rear window trim go over the front and rear edges of the panel. I think the interior quarter panels go on after, as well, to cover the lower edge.

in the end, the front, bottom, and rear edges of the sail panel are held in place by other trim, with the top edge cleanly lays flat against the headliner.

the sail panels are typically covered by the same material as the headliner. some headliner packages already come with swatches of the fabric for covering the sail panels. a 3M spray adhesive works well, and has held for years without issue. but I imagine any goopy adhesive, spread ultra thin, will work well to hold the fabric in place. cut the fabric at least 1-inch over, and fold the edges over to make a nice clean look.

Thanks, do you leave the bottom unglued and hook the material with the lower teeth?
