i acquired this radio and was told it was probably for an E body. could anyone who knows for sure confirm this? also any clue what its worth? thanks in advance.
I wouldn't put any power near that radio until I had a look inside, it obviously has spent some time near water. When you open it up the wires will become clear which is positive. The body of the radio is usually the negative, the others are for the speakers L, R, and ground.
There are a couple ways to tell that it's an E-body radio. I just read an article last week on this.
First of all, ALL E-body radios have the antenna port facing down. If it's out the back, it's not an E-body radio. Also, look at the two tabs on the front of the unit. The left side tab will be rectangular and the right one will be square.
Also, 1970 was the only year for the chrome preset buttons.
