Just took the front end out and wanted to know if the K Frame bolts should be a certain color or just satin / semi gloss

Kennycuda, they're not painted at all. Phosphate (dark gray) color. See photo.

The lower control arm and the "special" square nut were natural. Obviously they rusted. I'd paint them with one of the clear coat paints to keep them from rusting. The lower control was either completely natural or had a "cosmoline" (MS-1620) coating. See below:

Great thanks I have a oval piece of metal attached to the front of my K frame I was told this was another way to identify a AAR or a TA is that true? I haven't stripped it yet is there any numbers on it? what was its purpose

That oval piece should have two digits which are the last two digits of the PN. For a 340 it should be "76" or "12". I'll let AAR and T/A owners comment on which of the two is correct. Maybe both?

late 70 v-8.
There were "coins" welded to K-members that have two stamped numbers on them, they are the last two digits of the part numbers. Mostly on 70 and up cars.
Example: '70 e-body K-frame numbers

**** *10 - /6 early
2962 012 - 314/340/383 early
2962 014 - HEMI early
3466 477 - 440 early

3583 052 - T/A
**** *70 - /6 late
3583 072 - 318/340/383 late
3583 074 - 440 late
3583 076 - HEMI late

some b'cast sheets indicate 3583 052 - on late (post T/A) 340 4bbl & 383 4bbl cars

My car was built April 13th so a TA should have a 52? I know my car has the original K Frame in it but says 72 would that still indicate a TA
