Lockout Tube Lock-up

I'm ready to reinstall my rebuilt steering column and want to know the best way to secure the end of the lockout tube, as I do not have the linkage and I don't want it able to move.
Besides zip-ties, is there a better way to keep it in place?

If you don't want to use something to hold the lock-out tube from locking up your steering column, take out the lockout mechanism by the ignition switch.

The weight of that arm is enough to keep it in place.
I drove my car for 20yrs without an issue.
Didn't like the look of that extra piece, so when I had the column out to install a Borg box, I cut off the arm and trimmed it flush. Looks much better.
But after that, a few times it must have shifted and caused the key to not come out.
Initially I was opening the hood and rotating it by hand, real PIA.
Then someone mentioned you can rotate it right from the driver's seat.
Happened maybe 2 more times, and not ever again over the last 2 yrs.
So the moral of the story is you don't need to worry about it.
