Hello,
Where is a good place to mount a MSD box in a 1974 Dodge Challenger with a 440 and a 833 4 speed

my cars are 1971, cuda and challenger, butt i can't imagine 74 is much different... in the cuda i have it mounted on the left inner fender where the batter was (it's not in the trunk)... obviously not an option if the batter is still up front. On the challenger i have it mounted to the firewall above the heater box. i believe they can also be mounted inside the cabin with the wiring run out through the firewall. yes, these options will likely require some drilling.

Mine is on the rh fender apron now.
Motor is out for upgrades and will probably mount it behind/beside the glove box area??.
I still haven’t mounted the glove box material.
Just think about routing/routing the hot wire.

Years ago, I mounted mine on my 70 Challenger on the firewall above the blower motor. Please ignore the dirt, grime, rust etc.

yeah, that's exactly where mine is on the challenger

I have built a aluminum plates for a few different e-bodies to mount MSD ignitions in the place of the stock electronic ignition module. This gives a good way to install it with the rubber vibration isolators and not have to drill extra holes in the firewall/cowl for the car.

I have 2 fav spots
- first is in the trash as I have had relentless problems with MSD ,
- the second if you have to have one is under the battery tray .

I had mine mounted on passenger inner fender. Ran it there from 1990 -2015. It's been in the same location on my belvedere since 2015
