Name my liscence plate!

Posting this on most of the forums that I am a part of.
Im about ready to plate the thing, and its got too much character to not get a custom plate. It is a rescue vehicle that belonged to a local fire department, its nickname is the road toad.

How many characters are you allowed. NY gives us 8 so "roadtoad" would fit.

"Rd Toad" is seven characters including space. I believe that is allowable in most states and most people would still figure it out.
