Need trunk width measurement for 71 Cuda

I am fitting up my new sheet metal on my 71 Barracuda. I took some measurements prior to dis-assembly but would like verification that they are good measurements. I need the full opening width of the trunk.

I have mine mocked up with sheet metal screws and am getting a 54 15/16 measurement. My original measurements were 54 13/16 at the top and 54 7/8 at the bottom. I am thinking I am in pretty good shape, but would like to see what others have.

I tried but my LH quarter is too rusted, couldn't you sit the trunk lid in to see how it is?

right now the vise grips are in the way....

My 71 is 54 7/8" even

The opening in the opposite direction is 16 7/8". Actual opening.

Awesome, I am right there, a few layers of paint and my opening will shrink to 54 7/8, plus that corresponds to my original measurements. You rock, thanks for the measurement.

And the 16 7/8 was spot on. I had taken three measurements from the rear window frame to the trunk lip for reference, but this number just solidify that my panels are looking good.
