since I am already spending more than I want on resto, who doesn’t, I am going to tackle restoring my steering wheel. I have the 70 3 black rubber spokes with silver inlay, plain horn cap. I will attempt duplicating the wood grain, at least the overall impressions of wood if not exact. I have new pistol grip I figured I’d use to try to match color and maybe the grain if it was the same. What did the real deal look like? So few detailed pics available. Can someone with an original in good shape post a few close ups. Mine is so worn no visible grain left. Anyone who has successfully done diy please chime in on techniques/ paint etc. I need to touch up silver on spokes also. Thinking about silver paint pen for first attempt. I have seen acrylic and enamel. Any advice. thanks

Do a search. Someone on here did exactly what you are wanting to do within the past year or so.
