Odds of finding a TA steering box

Are they even out there? Do I even want one? Mine is from a 69 B body. Just wondering if I should have firm feel redo my current one or find a TA box or go with something different.
 
Do you know if you car was optioned for the Quick Ratio box? If, not it’s probably not worth the $$ and effort.
 
My car is a TA, so I’d assume that it came with one originally. I actually don’t like how fast the steering is currently. I am thinking of just keeping the B body steering box, getting a normal Pittman arm and going from there. Maybe a firm feel stage 3 rebuild. Current lead time is 3 months though.
 
Quick ratio was optional on AAR/TAs (S74 I think). I don’t believe that shows up on the fender tag so the build sheet would be the best way to see if it came that way. What’s the casting number and date on your current steering box? B/E-bodies used the same box (2267282), at least in 1970-71. It’s possible to have a 69 date for a 1970.
 
I always thought the quick ratio steering on the TAs was a pitman arm change only. Boxes stayed the same.
 
If you do a search for Mopar steering boxes with “2267282” or “2267262” you get lots of pics of what looks to be the same steering box. I think the second to last digit looks more like a “6” than an “8”. Either way, its possible you have the original steering box in your T/A.

The optional quick ratio “TA” steering box has a different casting number (2267600) and has a large “TA” cast into the body.

In that case, the Pittman arm is definitely a fast ratio arm. Maybe going back to a standard arm will help. Mine is cast 103-10031. A pro forged fast ratio arm. Anyone have a lead on a standard part no.?

Theres one on FACEBOOK for $1695.00 plus $250 for the fast ratio pitman arm PLUS shipping...Its on one of the forums
 
Remember, that with the longer Fast Ratio Pitman arm, you should also change the idler arm to the longer C-Body (~1970) IDLER ARM... as its being referred to by retailers (Hotchkis, Firm Feel, P-S-T, etc) as the "Fast Ratio Idler Arm"... always has been and always will be simply a C-Body idler arm. By matching these longer arms, you will then have equal L-R turning radius (unlike the factory mistake of not having the longer idler arm to match the longer Fast Ratio Pitman arm).
 
I have 2 Firm Feel stage 3 boxes, one in my Cuda and one in my Challenger and they are awesome. They are very precise and deliver a lot of road feel. When I first put the FF box in my Challenger and drove it I thought something was wrong because it was so responsive (almost as good as my 2010 Challenger). That said, FF also does a stage 2 which is as you would imagine less responsive.
