I have Pertronix billet distributor for my small block which is designed much like a Chevrolet points distributor. The vacuum advance failed and to remove/replace it a complete disassembly of the unit was required.
A month or so later I received a replacement advance and now I can't get the distributor shaft to enter far enough to insert the pin. If there are two ways to put something together, I am very well known (to myself) that I begin by putting things together backwards (more so when some time has passed).
I finally gave up and searched the internet. No video showing the disassembly/reassembly, but a lot of Chevy stuff. So I swallowed my pride and asked Petronix directly for a parts diagram sketch or a video so I could put it back together. I few days later I received a disappointing response to my email to customer service: "I asked the people in engineering for something and I came up with nothing. Sorry."
I tried to put it together again this morning, but still running into a brick wall. Hoping someone here (or on FABO/FABO) can help me out. Thank you.
