previous owner research

Does anyone know how I can trace previous ownership? Back in 73, I purchased a new Cuda and now have it again after 35 years.

Have a cop friend run a DMV history on the vin #.

Not legal to do in the state of Pa. Not sure about other states.

call the states dmv you wish to get records from. usually you will have to send 10-15 $ and a request for record/title search. you can have your atty. do it in the states that say no. you can trace it all the way back. usually all records from the "A " title through "E" are kept by law permanently. after that they are up to the dmv. Good luck ,It can be done . I should know , i've done it..
