Radio bezel openings

The Challenger radio bezel looks to have 2 rectangular openings. The large top one is for the radio unit obviously, but what is the smaller, lower opening for and the circle cutout to the left of it?

Mine was just an empty panel as seen below when I got the car.

That panel is universal. The smaller rectangle and hole are to accommodate the AM 8-track. They’re covered up with the outer trim if you don’t have that unit.
