Working through some rust repair on my 71. I don't intend to relead this seam.

Through research I've discovered that the suggested action is to weld the seam solid, then come in with a metal filler over the top. It gets welded solid, and then light coats of filler.

I was curious as to if anyone has done this? I don't plan to cut the seam out.

they suggested to weld a solid bead there so it won't crack do a 1 inch stich at a time and let it cool remember the other side of the seam gets hot good idea to take down headliner have a air hose with a blower and a garden hose handy or you can use fiberglass mats then filler no welding
