Speedometer

Can anyone tell me if the back of the speedometer where you hook the cable to has any kind of protruding lip on it? The reason i'm asking is the cable keeps falling off. Tried really pressing it on and broke the plastic clip on cable. Bought new one but before I try to put on, I want to make sure the back of the speedometer is not messed up.

Yes there is a raised ridge or lip that the plastic clip on the speedo cable locks on to, I'll post a picture later today of the back of a speedometer
