Hey all, quick question on a steering column. I know Flaming River and ididit both make columns for the e-body but they are very expensive. Ididit has a universal 32-in column that is almost half the cost for a retrofit unit. I don't necessarily want a keyed column either because I plan to do a push button start. Obviously the issue with the universal unit is no mounting bracket. I removed the blocks with threads from the original column and was wondering if there's a reason I shouldn't weld the blocks to a new column. This would allow me to place the column where I want and utilize the factory mounting bracket. The blocks on the original column were just spot welded on and they came off fairly easy with a little bit of work.
