So yesterday my son and I hopped into his 2015 Challenger Scat Pack and drove 171 miles through the Southwest desert to visit Heminut. And wouldn't you know it, we would up in a car show with the Scat Pack and Heminut's 70 Cuda! It was a fun day and a great visit. Didn't when no trophies, but I really think Heminut should have two (I'll let him add on). 😁

Oh, besides a Challenger GT, we were the only Mopar cars in the show.

They had a "loudness" contest between various cars and motorcycles and fortunately no one blew anything up, but a couple did have gray smoke indicating oil rings going bad. This is where Heminut should have gotten the second trophy!

Good to see younger folks enjoying their automobiles at least! There might be some hope for kids these days!

It was just luck that the car show was taking place when Xcudame was visiting, I didn't even know about it until a couple of days before. It was a small local show but was still a lot of fun! Had a couple of guys with sport bikes in the show that kept starting the bikes and revving the crap out of their engines, which was extremely annoying to say the least. I told Xcudame "It'll be funny as hell if we hear a loud bang and the revving stops!" 😄 They had the engine revving contest that Xcudame referred to and he and his son badgered me into removing my header dump caps and getting in on it. I didn't win anything but had a lot of fun bouncing the tach up over 7K RPM! I haven't uncapped the headers in several years. The show was put on by a local car club that is more late model and 'tuner' oriented so the awards were more biased towards those types of cars. No problem, I don't do the shows for awards, it's all about enjoying the cars and the people. This was the leading pic posted by the club on Facebook later though;

Afterwards we went to a local watering hole for a late lunch and then I took Xcudame and his son by my friend's gas station where they built a movie set hotel behind it, and they then headed back to Arizona. They will be filming on the set the next couple of days and the hotel and gas station get shot up in the movie. Get this though, the name of the movie is "Barracuda" and is based around a 73 Barracuda owned by a Mexican drug cartel boss. There is some info on the movie at imdb.com.

It wasn't very hard to "badger" Heminut into uncapping his headers and entering the contest! His Cuda definitely had the best baritone of any car out there! And the most sound vibrations! I could feel it and I was standing in front of his Cuda! Still a fun day!

Let me tell you, that local watering hole for lunch is a great place to eat! And ice cold beer on tap sure tastes the best when you've been at a car show most of the day!

@heminut you definitely need you get your Cuda in that movie somehow!
