i figured i would post some pics of my car while i wait for new carpet. Heres some good ones of the floorboard, nice and solid. i found a very partial buildsheet under the drivers seat but most had been ate by silverfish. I have a full mint buildsheet on the original glove box liner though. FK5, V1X, H6XW

I suggest that before you lay the carpet, you first put down some Dynamat or similar product and also Reflextic for noise/heat control. It will make a huge difference. I would also find a piece of inner tube style rubber and lay it over the tranny hole to block heat/noise. Something else.... After everything is laid and your trying to relocate the shifter boot screw holes, use an ice pick to locate then heat a wire or nail and push it through. It will melt the carpet so that the screws don't wrap up with it.

If your car is 100% numbers correct and your going to be very strict about keeping it that way, then its completely understandable why you would not want to use the sound/noise deadeners. But if its not, then why not make the car more enjoyable and do things that no one will ever see or know about ? Don't mean to be argumentative, just curious.

I have thought about the soud deadner but was unsure about how much weight it would add. I had a 427 68 vette and it got warm to say the least but this is an AAR so I would imagine the motor noise and heat wont be quite as much. I have the matching numbers tranny but not motor so its not going to be over the top perfect but will go back with as much items with the pentastar logo as i can afford to. here is a pic of my 70s interior and my mint cluster and near mint original dash. the car sat since 1990 so i got lucky as its mostly just surface rust

Sound deadener or undercoating will only extend the life of the car and won't hurt the value. I can't imagine anyone having issues with these improvements on a driver. You would get more static about the diamond tuck velour seat cover that anything else.

C-artifacts...... here are some cartifacts i found. the second build sheet was not soo lucky and one bit i can make out is the 6-way seat which my car has and is on the build sheet. it was stuck the bottom of my 6way seat frame rail. all other parts were gone. then theres tickets from Oregon, and grand junction colorado springs ,Colo. found the ticket stubs in the A-pillar plastic covers.

heres some pics of the finished product. my first time putting in carpet and i am very happy with it. i made it extend into the dash alot more than it originally did so it looks nicer i think. thanks for the inspiration guys, this AAR will be tearing up the roads in no time
