I might be wrong but I don't think the TA/AAR valve covers were special, I "think" they were the same as any other 340 but I could be wrong.

There’s a debate whether they are anything different from 340-4 valve covers. I personally think they are unique based on the survivor cars I’ve seen. I can’t recall all the subtle differences (two or three, I think) but the most obvious difference is the height of the spark plug wire tab on the D/S cover. IMO, the AAR/TA cover tab was about a 1/2” taller than the 340-4 version. Some chalk up any differences in the valve covers to supplier variations rather than intentional AAR/TA design. The taller tab makes sense to me when you look at how the brake booster vent hose attaches to the manifold on a 340-6.

I have this pair that I got in a package deal.
I was told they were 73/4 340 but I really don't know.

From what I have worked out - the Shaker and 6 pack cars had the different style covers.
With the Shaker on if the oil filler is not at the front of the passengers side valve cover you could not get oil in to top up the engine.
I wanted to modify my valve covers but did not want to change the originals. I bought a repop set off Mega Parts and they were very well made and close to exactly the same as the originals on the engine.

I couldn't remember the difference. I asked a friend Scott Smith owner of Harms Auto www.harmsauto.com. He sent me this picture. It is still up for debate and the difference could be something as simple as Mopar changing vendors.

Still hard to find but 70 340 valve covers will work. The difference (I guess venders)of the 340 and the 340 6 pack valves cover have been found on both engine and not one more than the other. Either are correct
