I need to replace the valve springs on my 452s for my 512. Whenever i use the valvespring tool it just lifts the bottom of the spring off the seat and the retainers dont budge. Any ideas on what im doing wrong?

The upper tabs need to go on top of the retaining washer. You need to pressurize cylinder and tap on top of spring compressor.

The locks are jammed on the taper in the retainer.
Give the retainer a tap on the edge with a nylon hammer.

i ended up combining the 2 ideas by compressing the spring a little bit and hitting the spring compressor with a nylon hammer and it popped them loose. Thanks!
