Steering Column bearing-71 Challenger

I looked through all of the previous posts regarding these bearings and I didn't really see a definitive answer. Found two different items at Classic Industries( pictures attached) and I called their tech support and they stated I needed to use both. At this point, the simple plastic device was "hanging out" on the steering shaft but not inside the column like to should have been and no dust cover present. The other device (with bearing inside) is not present in my column and I don't see any holes where the screws would be installed to hold it. Anyone know for sure?

My 73 Barracuda used the MW760 unit. Challenger RTA used something different that if I was to rebuild my column again, I would probably use.

Yah, I am thinking that was the factory set up and the steering coupler adjusts accordingly. Seems the MW760 would have a lot more play and maybe that's by design. Any worries that the tighter tolerance would somehow be too restrictive? The true bearing set certainly looks to be a better set up!

Once the steering column is coupled to the steering box, there is no play that I notice. If tires are unbalanced etc. then you feel it in the wheel. I would think the bearing guarantees the steering column shaft is centered. Yes, it really looks nice and finished.
