I just got a '70 Barracuda that has a Hurst Compition/Plus manual shifter but it's not installed. I have the shift rods but can't find a good clear picture of how they go on the transmission and shifter. If anyone that has the same setup on their car could post a picture of the area where the rods connect or point me in the right direction of an installation guide I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes indeed. I am a fan of Dime's guitar work and tone. Pantera would deffinately be in my top 10 favorite bands. I think they had a nice heavy sound. How about yourself?

I don't think you can get em wrong but I admit when you first see em they look a bit complicated.
I'd suggest goin on to a good website like Brewers or Passon, they have clear images if the shift rods and all the components, most importantly they're all identified 1/2 shift, 3/4 shift, reverse etc.

Yeah I went through all the parts today and after seeing some pictures on Brewers I think it should be pretty simple. Thanks for the help!

I would get a factory service manual for your car , seeing as you car is in pieces it will be invaluable !!

I'll have to get one of those! I could definitely use some directions. I'm pretty confident in getting the shifter in now. I found some good pictures and after holding the rods up to the tranny it shouldn't be an issue getting it installed. Only missing the levers that go on the end of the rods. The swivels are there just no levers. Thanks for the info!

They really are pretty easy, mount the shifter and put it in neutral. Verify neutral position by inserting a rod in the shifter (bottom center of the shifter arms), about the size of a #2 phillips, when installed it will lock the shifter in neutral position. Arms mount on the tranny pointed down and just adjust until they fit best. Have a go at it as I am certain the experience will be good in the long run.
