our high school had a co-op program - we went to their shop and worked few hours per week. Maybe an counselor could arrange such at your place? couple video's at school in class - then hands on,,,

Only a couple of garage/shops with a long wait. did that once, (while my car was parked outside in the lot a few days - it got broke into stealing my stereo with gauges) mostly changing my clutch every few weeks...
I have a 2020 T/A with the small 5.7 - its just enough to almost get me in trouble... if it was a scat - I would be in trouble every time - for like you I too have a lead foot! Mine has 25000. Last year around 23500 the lifters were ticking - under warranty they changed out the lifters with cam...
Another thing to mention is how new is the rubber. One time I ordered from an Auto parts store, they found it in the back. Was not sticky - looking at the label it was couple years old.
A new roll will be sticky to the touch.

I would mock up glass with all clips in place using dry rubber spacers tacked on - to then snap chrome window trim in place checking for fitment. Some places...

these were in a cuda car I had 20 years ago.
removed when I changed the carpet to install heat shield.
sold the car without them as the buyer did not want them.
They are working - Not sure if are proper for E body?
