    72 Dodge Challenger heater check

Well, it is cold outside and my heater on my Challenger does not function. I checked my Dodge manual and it has precious little on it. I will check my Haynes. Do you have a suggestion as to where to start?

    440 Transmission

I have a 72 Dodge Challenger with a 340 727 transmission. I plan to replace it with a 440 and a big block 727. What is the difference? What should I expect? What do I need to know about this to save me some headache later? What is the difference between a 727 small block and a 727 big block...

I will find out about the 440. I have all the parts and it has been bored out. More later. MDavis

The 727 should match the 440 then? I have been told it will.

Thanks for the information. I was not aware about the drive shaft. I understand that I will need a different radiator. I have electronic ignition. The motor mounts will have to be changed then that support the 383-440 engine. MD

    440 conversion

Good morning. I have a 340 in my 72 Challenger and plan to install a 440 engine. Is there anything that I should know before I do all of this that would help me avoid pain and sorrow? What about the motor mounts? I plan to put a new Holley 650 CFM on it. I would think that should be enough. I...

New restoration work completed for now 1972 Challenger

Not actually sure of the question but I started with a 1968 Ford Mustang and then moved to a brand new 1972 340 Dodge Challenger, white with black vinyl top and blue interior. It was a beautiful car with headers, Cragars, etc. It was beefed up and ran well except when that 440 from Red Springs...

New restoration work completed for now 1972 Challenger

Thanks a bunch. I have the Rally wheels but wanted the Cragars. My first 72 had the Cragars and I wanted to return to that look. The engine sounds great with a new exhaust system.

Thanks. I love the 72 for a lot of reasons. Mopar parts are high but there is a real sense of satisfaction when the job is completed.
