You don't necessarily need the breather hose.
As a matter of fact, it looks like the breather you ordered is an "open" style breather, which means it'll have a row of holes on the bottom of it and filled with a filter element that will allow fumes to "breath" out of the engine.
Are these factory backing plates?
At that point you'd be getting damned close to maximum turn diameter to have the drums turned to fit. Take 'em back to where you bought 'em from and have them get you another set. If they don't match then it's a bad run of parts and need to be defected out.
