I have now replaced a problematic MS and the car stops without the BRAKE light on the dash coming on. Still, I can't lock
my brakes up. The system is better , but I would love for it to stop and give me nine cents change from a dime
bump.....well what is the outcome of the smaller MC? Have a 1970 Barracuda. Went from drum/drum to disc drum like many of you.
I have a similar problem. Before I tear into my system, I would love to get some more results please.
Thanks in advance.

Well, the P/S is fixed. Unbelievable what was found in the inside of the reservoir of the P/S pump. From the return line inside the can...
there was placed a catch screen for debris with a magnet inside of the meshed pouch. This was placed in the hole of the return line connection.
With that...
The belt did not make any noise at all before this happened. After the new hose went on the steering felt like it was okay
and felt that way until I took it out the second time.
Is there a way to diagnose the gear box of any problems before I try and get another one?
could it be the pump or is it more likely the steering gear?
edit: thanks, I did "burp" the system the first time I had a problem as you suggested before I drove it two weeks after.
Took the '70 barracuda out for her maiden 2020 voyage two weeks ago and 1/4 mile from the home the return line popped off the gear box and of course fluid went all over and boy was it hard to steer and get it home. I
1. replaced the return line with new line
2. refilled the pump
3. bled the PS...
I see no reason why not to as long as it is a good connection and it gets insulated after with shrink tube.
I prefer to use the twist and solder method with insulation shrink tube for a more permanent solution.
I would not use the ammeter wire to connect the volt meter. Find a switched volt...
My reason for the question is because I can't seem to get them both to seal correctly. I have tried twice now and still I have an engine that leaks oil around the
front and back. Where did you get the gaskets from and what sealer do you use? I am trying to do this while the engine is in the...
I know that 440's came with a windage tray in between the engine and the oil pan.
My question is: if I don't race the car, does the engine need the windage tray when
replacing the oil pan gasket? What would happen if I do not replace the tray?
Thanks for the info in advance.
