The mounting holes are further set outside on the 73-74. Yours, which are correct for your car, are set in further towards the middle/stem. Check Classic out to see images on 73-74. Thanks anyway though!
That would be interesting, thanks. According to everyone, mine is a 73-74 style. But as someone else pointed out, these cars are ancient and been touched in oh so many ways over the years.
Very true. I decided to buy a repop one, mainly just for the base. Yes, getting the mirror out is a PITA. Just did it on this one. But I figured removing the chrome, sanding, etc., even a bigger pain than a repop. Thanks again.
Hopefully you got what I'm saying about the pn's? The chrome set on ebay which definitely have the screws inward set,has exactly the same part number as mine. Just wanted to point out I'm not trying to be obtuse. But again, maybe the base was switched out for some dumb reason. It's too bad...
Thank you for following up and with pics. After looking at multiple pictures, it appears you are correct. A lot of people advertise that Chrysler p/n 3548726 as a 70 ebody mirror. Very confusing. I downloaded an old manual for pn's and couldn't find it. There is currently a set of chrome...
The p/n in the housing is 3548726 14-25-64. Brief findings on the internet show this to be for a 70 Ebody. Strangely though, one source shows 3548727 would be the RH or passenger side, but I think that might be for a chrome one? This definitely came off the pass side! I disassembled it and...
Thanks a ton for that info. I'm sure there are some plating shops in the area that can do these processes as well. But at what cost? Especially in this goofy state. I've bought the repops before for a 70 Coronet RT and they fit fine. Had to tap a couple of holes, but they looked good. They...
Looks like Michael got his response, so I'm hijacking thread a little. How about getting a chrome or shiny look back on original wheel well opening trim? Any suggestions besides replating?
I did drive the piss out of this gold one here that I owned twice though....and don't regret a single mile!
Now I have a supposed low mile 71 GTX 440+6. I plan on driving it and waxing it. That's about it!
Yes. Just drive them.
I spent stupid hours trying to sand the grill of my GTX so I could repaint. Reason? So I could get rid of tiny imperfections. It had been repainted, including the silver part, to black. Because (with my limited knowledge) I didn't sand perfectly in those little...
Yes, it is the AM radio with the din plug. I have not tried to use it because I was looking at the original owner manual's instructions that require the AM radio to be operative and mine is not.
Ok, I'm sorry for hijacking this thread. I just got excited about the cassette player thing. I...
Cool! I was wondering if they were just dictaphone size. I honestly do not remember seeing one cassette player in a car in the late 60's early 70's. Plenty of 8 tracks. Now I just need to get my AM radio fixed so I can see if my cassette player works! Thanks guys.
