The p/n in the housing is 3548726 14-25-64. Brief findings on the internet show this to be for a 70 Ebody. Strangely though, one source shows 3548727 would be the RH or passenger side, but I think that might be for a chrome one? This definitely came off the pass side! I disassembled it and I don't think it ever was before, it was very hard to get the mirror dismounted.

Is this a 1970 Ebody mirror? Thanks.

Your issue was answered on b bodies.
That is a 73-4.
Here's a pic with a 70 on the left, and a 71-2 on the right.
70 base is 3454096

Thank you for following up and with pics. After looking at multiple pictures, it appears you are correct. A lot of people advertise that Chrysler p/n 3548726 as a 70 ebody mirror. Very confusing. I downloaded an old manual for pn's and couldn't find it. There is currently a set of chrome mirrors for sale on ebay that look original and the pn's are clearly marked on them, with 3548726 for one side and 3548727 for the other. But they are definitely not the same mounting as mine. There are no part numbers on the base I have and I wonder if it's possible the bases were switched out at some point. Perhaps the pn in the mirror housing is just for the housing and not the base? Thanks again.

Hopefully you got what I'm saying about the pn's? The chrome set on ebay which definitely have the screws inward set,has exactly the same part number as mine. Just wanted to point out I'm not trying to be obtuse. But again, maybe the base was switched out for some dumb reason. It's too bad the repop sellers can't even list the stupid mounting hole dimensions. That alone would help, as I'm not trying to be numbers matching, just holes fitting!

You don't happen to know if removing chrome to paint over is a chore or not, do you? I actually found one!

70 E-Bodies had their own right and left side racing mirrors which are actually smaller mirrors themselves.
Who knows after 55 years what parts have been mismatched and cludged together?
Bead blasting will remove the chrome. If you're not removing the mirror glass (a real PITA!), be sure to mask them off well prior to bead blasting.

Very true. I decided to buy a repop one, mainly just for the base. Yes, getting the mirror out is a PITA. Just did it on this one. But I figured removing the chrome, sanding, etc., even a bigger pain than a repop. Thanks again.

That would be interesting, thanks. According to everyone, mine is a 73-74 style. But as someone else pointed out, these cars are ancient and been touched in oh so many ways over the years.

The mounting holes are further set outside on the 73-74. Yours, which are correct for your car, are set in further towards the middle/stem. Check Classic out to see images on 73-74. Thanks anyway though!
