A customer of mine brought me their 70 Challenger. They had purchased new sun visors thinking it cam with ALL the parts; the rods, visor, and holder. Unfortunately they only came with the visor and none of the other parts. The car was an old race car back in the day, so the previous owner removed them, and now my customer wants to get them reinstalled. Does anyone know were I can get the pivot rods and the anchors for visors? I've seen some for other Chryslers, but don't know if they will fit or not.

Thanks for your help

Flat out missing parts, compared to those that may be incomplete, or in need of restoration, is among the more difficult and costly problems to solve.

When the sun visor isn't missing, the parts that generally wear out are the visor flap and rubber tip. Both of those can be found aftermarket. But as far back as I can remember, I don't recall ever seeing the other parts for sale aftermarket. They may be out there, but I'm guessing the market is much smaller.

You may be looking at buying a used set of sun visors, just to get the remaining hardware. Part of the bracket is pot metal, and subject to bubbling, flaking and corrosion. A really nice set of shafts and brackets may be paired with a nice set of visors.

Expect to pay $300 or more for a nice set sun visors with the bracket/hardware in nice shape. I've seen convertible ones go for $500 in nice shape.

Check with some of the well known used parts vendors. Used/crappy visors were fairly plentiful at Carlisle and the Nats so they’re out there.

“Tony’s Parts” lists visor rods in their inventory.

Paul Slater in MN, Chet Greenwood in RI, anf Jeff Bobst in IA are all great to deal with and have a lot of parts. You should be able to google their contact info.

Thanks for your help. I checked out Tony's and bought his. Very reasonable.

Also, just and FYI, I called Jeff first because he was closest, but he sold most of his parts, and don't have much left.
