FOUND! Original factory totals for Plymouth color & options for 1972. Found it while scanning a 1973 Factory Color & Trim book. You can download the document and see it for yourself:

From those documents we can figure out that there was 775 TX9 (Black), 2,232 TB3 (Basin Street Blue), 166 HT6 (Mojave Tan Met) in 1972 Barracudas. So next time someone asked how many EV2 Tor Red Barracudas there were in 1972 we'll now know for sure. It's 1,679.
