We all get deep involved with our old classic mopars and countless times we get frustrated and fall out n wonder why we ever started this challenge?
I for one now know why i bought a 73 challenger and why it was named so!haha, yes love and hate,a proper on /off relationship eh.Many projects get shelved, many sold, many parted out,but more importantly many get saved by you lot,by me,and that is important and MATTERS!The day my Challenger fired up that 1967 383 rebuilt motor up was one of my happiest days ever!!More than when Daisy Duke asked me to marry her!!!It was only afew dats ago,ive rebuilt everything on this car except cosmetics because im more of a patina fan(love show quality builds but dont enjoy the concern/worry bout their wellbeing). Its driving great but still got jobs to do.Point is,we know its expensive, time consuming,at times impossible, lifes obstackles roadblocking us every attempt.BUT its so bloody rewarding when youve built a big 50+year old Mopar muscle car and you hear that engineering genius, proud American iron!Lets be straight new cars bore us to death, yawnfest!Stick youre ev ,we must always remember when it gets tough going that this E Body site has so many expert members to help us and offer advice, use it get help,i did and withouy it id still be waiting to hear that 383 roar, yes some posts on here create afew disagreements ,haha but thats only because we get grumpy as we get old!!Anyway i just wanted to say never quit, get help, advice and if the cost gets too much just give Elon a call!Enjoy the smell of that burning rubber and get those wrenches out!!

There is a threshold where you realize this Mopar thing is no longer just a hobby……It’s a full blown disease.

MOPAR fans don't know how good they have it!
I just sold my 1987 Turbo T Limited about a month ago. (Sept. 2025). I bought it in Dec. 2019 with a new but low quality rebuilt turbo, intercooled V-6. It seemed to be a lite resto, and I own an upper end machineshop, so I figured it to be done in a few months, since the body was already done nicely.
That stretched into 4 years and 9 months of: out of stock parts, new but junk parts, back ordered almost all parts, and mis boxed parts. Since there are so few of those out there, a company sees a need, designs something, sends it to China, and the supplier finds out the parts don't fit or function correctly. But they sell all of the parts anyway.
They don't want to lose any money, ya know.
We had done a street/strip 1972 Challenger in 1995 for a customer that had been sitting since 1999. I made a list of everything that I needed and found all was in stock except for the trunklid spoiler! (That shipped in 30 days) I rebuilt the carb, flushed the fuel system, preoiled the 440, put new tires on it and did burnouts for a half hour!
The stock small block brake booster was close to the rocker cover; so I hunted down a dual diaphragm Hemi booster and M/C. One fone call! In stock at the local Autozone warehouse! And with a mfg date of 3 months ago!
I told everyone I wanted to sell the nearly completed Buick and within a few months it sold. The guy said;"wow it's almost done and I can be driving it in a week!" That was 7 weeks ago.... it still isn't done. New parts deteriorated from sitting a few years ya know.
He has purchased around $1500.00 in parts since then.....
Other than my time, I broke even on the Buick.
Be happy there are as many parts suppliers as there are for our MOPARs!

Nice ride @One of few! Can you share details on your wheels and tires?

I'm waiting on a set YearOne Rallye wheels. Part Number: MRWDS1 (8" front, 9" rear) which are currently out of stock.

I have not decided on tires yet. What are you running?

Tires on my Challenger are 15 years old. Look great, but don't want to risk a blow out.

Thanks
