I still just don't get it!

It took decades, un countless recourses to accomplish the same. While a mopar has generated more smile per miles then any of them. So who is the behind?

There was a reason there is a wing on the back. The engineers know one of us would put a 8 speed or overdrive in. They run the numbers and it calculates to 600 MPH.

I agree , the Daytona was faster than F1, Indy , virtually everything except maybe Can Am back in 69 !
I really don't care for the looks of the Bugatti either .

Bugatti, does that translate to "Bug Ugly"? The face looks like which isn't intimidating or menacing like you'd want a 200 mph car to be!

@Ohiowoodchuck, depending the track and final gearing desired, it wasn't uncommon to leave a race car in third gear! Or skipping a gear! In the late 60s and early 70s, Petty Engineering was doing their own thing when it came to Plymouth race cars!

@Xcudame Thanks for clearing that up. Maybe he was skipping a gear in it like you mentioned. What an idiot I was for opening my mouth, after rewatching the video it is indeed a 4 speed. I could have swore I saw a video or read somewhere that the super speedway cars were 3 speeds.

Don't overlook the fact that the Bugatti can reach 200 with the a/c blowing cold in street legal configuration while being easy enough to drive to pick up groceries at a price tag that would choke a whale. A nascar wing car was never going to be able to do any of that. Kind of silly to compare the two.

Not really even breaking a sweat and not breaking the bank. There is enough to take the family for ice cream on a 200mph jaunt.

As I have driven both hard, I have to agree with you. The only thing in common is speed.
