73 barracuda driver side, remote mirror cables.\nClips.

On the mirror cables there are two plastic clips.. I have checked online and saw several different pictures. But nothing that shows where both of them go. There is one that shows 1 of the plastic clips going by the front hinge area. And one over on the door support, but it's not a round clip like what is on the 1I have there are 2 round plastic clips. Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

what I think I recall: on the 1970 barracuda (for example), the "remote control" rallye mirror, painted or chrome, the cables feed through a hole on the door's outer shell, and the mirror is screwed into place atop a rubber gasket fitting the footprint of the mirror. Inside the door, there is one bracket with a 1-inch hole that looks like this:

through which the cables are routed. this helps to keep them from moving and rubbing against the glass and window regulator. I believe this bracket is optional, and those who change their mirrors, do just fine without it (in my experience.)

the cables continue to route through the inner-side of the door sheet metal. From there, the joystick at the end is mated to the plastic interior door panel, and held in place by a screw-on bezel.

So, on the 1970 barracuda, at least, I do not recall any plastic clips in the installation stream. Can you clarify what you know about your clips?

Thanks.I have seen all of those . Mine does have to plastic clips like in the last picture , but the cable is not long enough to route it down down by the hinge in the one picture.

In that last pitcher, it looks like the one next to the door brace is not a round clip, but a flat clip.If I had one of those , it would work

I googled and looked. I am sure they are made repro. gotta figure out what they are called. roseville, classic industries, and others will have them maybe in the electrical sections as wire loop holders.

look at the video of that other post, and compare it to your door. maybe you're choosing a longer route for the cables?

wait, cables not long enough? Have you confirmed you're not installing an A-body or B-body remote mirror? They look pretty similar to the E-body ones, but there are variations in the stanchion (mirror pedestal) angles and dimensions.

This may help... Technically , I could just drill a hole and that door structure brace and put that clip anywhere , but i'm trying to figure out where it would have went factory wise..

agreed. the lower flat clip is in the engineering tech drawing for the remote control mirror. and one plastic circular clip. they may not have issued a revised drawing for 1973, etc, if the moved to two plastic circular clips.

the flat "clip" may be part number 6023559
but the "cable guide clip" the circular one, I don't have a bead on, yet.

according to the tech drawing, those plastic clips may be 1971-only.

I'm not sure mine is a 73 and it has the round circular ones..

they may not have revised the tech drawing after 1971. I cannot find one. And it makes sense, a change they made in 1971 could stick through the end of life of the car line (1974), unless they made a further third change and refinement. for your 1973, it may be safe to set it up as the 1971 drawing.
