    Slap Stick Question

If it were mine, I would put the factory T-handle on and get it working. After that, you can switch to the other handle. The shift mechanism isn't complicated, if you take a look and none of the channels are excessively worn, it will work.

They don't want you accidentally downshifting from D to 2nd when going 100mph. Up shifting isn't an issue

AC vents in Non AC dash

All of the metal frames for the dash pads have the cut outs in the metal for the AC vents. I'd think you could carefully cut away the foam and use stock vents.

    Shifter lamp

That connector to body ground is marginal. I installed an LED Bulb and it wouldn't work. I ended up soldering a wire to the socket ground and running it to the mounting bolt for the shifter. Works great now. In the future I'd replace the socket with something that has a dedicated ground wire.

    rear height

Might be easier to just add lowering blocks? Mine is around 26.5, don't like to see top of tire. https://postimages.org/][/url]

That doesn't sound good, I'd take the wheel and drum off and see how the axle looks/feels.

73 barracuda cowl vent grill ?

70 were screw hold down only, the later screens are snap in. So the later screens retain provisions to be used on a 70 car. Backward compatibility
