Progress.
I’ve not seen white seats with black door panels before.
My ‘71 Barracuda vert came white on white. Panels badly chalked.
I bought a black set years ago with plan to change to black interior.
The '72-74 manuals on PDF's appear to be scarce as hens teeth. I had a thread here and another forum looking for one for free. I searched in vain. Yes there are places where you can buy and download them; some versions folks complain the watermarks added by the vendor obscure the images...
It’s been 40 years since I tried to put my cover on.
I slid it on the seat first then snapped it to the trim.
I actually left it attached to the seat same as the original owner. Probably why the clips are broken from the top retracting.
The '70 Parts Book is also lacking in the hardware call out for the valance (called "shield) and valance insert (simply called "panel").
Truly an oddity...
And here is a snipet I put together from the '70 service manual. It confirms the push pins and calls them retainers.

Here is a '70 insert and the familiar...
You are correct.
It is not addressed in the '73 Body manual that I found on Internet Archive. I flipped thru every page.
Totally bizarre that the parts book and the body manuals do not show how it is connected.
I still have not had a chance to crawl under my smashed '72 to see how it is...
Some minor progress....
The Internet Archive has the '73 Plymouth Chrysler Imperial Body Manual on its site. I had to join. Can't download it....
So some screen shots...

Yes several places have the manual for sale. Some are reported to have poor images and others are reported to have watermarks on each page that obscures the information/image.
Odd that many manuals are available for free, but not the 1972 Body manual and yet the 1972 Chassis manual can be...
