73 barracuda tries to run only in the start position.

You're not getting 12 volts at the ballast resistor in the run position which drops it to about 6-8 volts. In the start position you should have more volts to the coil, 8-10 volts, when you are in the run position check voltage at the ballast, or you are not getting voltage from ignition switch...

That's why it is called an Elephant. I know I have one.

B to gen 2 hemi swap e-body thread?

I had to change the starter battery cable, and it is pricey, the bracket that bolts to the block that holds the cable and depending on what manifold maybe throttle bracket and throttle spring bracket. I did have a 440 in before the Hemi, but the above from it didn't work for me. Car is 71 Cuda...

    Borgeson Steering box question

Maybe you should give Peter a call and see what he recommends, before making things worse.

    Borgeson Steering box question

I did two, 74 Duster and 71 Cuda, and no problems. Could you have hooked up hoses wrong as a possibility?

    What am I missing?

You're missing at least $50,000 to restore it.

1971 Cuda 340 Power Steering Bulletin

Wonder why just on 340's and not on 383, 440 and hemi's. I would think heavier engines would benefit also. Did they think 340 cars were going to go to road races?

New Cuda Owner from Long Island NY

Since your car is more than 25 years old, NY just inspects brakes, and other than smog BS. Unless you want all that BS, run the tanks inc. with the pump and run a return line and a regulator and you'll be good to go.

New Cuda Owner from Long Island NY

Welcome from Northport. I have a 71 Cuda that I FI and used a Tanks inc. tank with an electric pump. I also have a 74 Duster and installed same tank with the electric fuel pump. Since they are not daily drivers, the electric pump makes starting so much faster. The Duster is a carb and what an...

    Newbie question

Could also be too lean, caused maybe by a vacuum leak or carbs being lean. Check the plugs to see condition.

complete dash harness replacement and the signal lights don't work

Was this a repo harness or one removed from a car? I removed one from a working car and everything worked fine when I was done.

FOR SALE Rallye gauges with rear defog switch

70-71 parts book shows Cuda & Challenger using same tach, no rpm difference. The 72 Challenger was bought for the Rally dash and junked after I removed dash and wiring because car was a rust bucket back then and no after market sheet metal available.

FOR SALE Rallye gauges with rear defog switch

My rally dash also came out of a 72 Challenger 318, but is an 8000 RPM tach. Maybe an early car and they were using left over 8000 RPM tachs till they were exhausted.

    Bucket seat reinforcement plates

E body plates are u shaped, not flat like the A bodies. A little more involved to make, probably why there not being reproduced.

Value of ac components for a 1973 Cuda

The condenser being copper may be worth something at metal recycling place. I bring my old metal to a recycler and get paid for it. Of course copper and aluminum bring in more bucks. An old fridge got me $25.

    Fender Fitment 70 vs 71

I have a 71 Cuda that had a NOS 70 fender installed with a plate welded in with the gills. I eventually got a NOS 71 fender that I installed on the car. I remember vaguely a little work was done to fit in the 71 headlight bracket, but that was about 40 years ago.

    Tricks for Rallye dash lights

Start with the dimmer switch. Being some 50 years old they are junk to begin with. The thin wiper arm breaks off and that is usually the problem with it.

    Glovebox Original vs Repro

When I took my glove box out of my car, 71 Cuda, it had in chalk name "Rose" on it. I guess the women making them liked to personalize them.

Need help seeing if this is worth it

You mention needs plugs. If plugs were removed make sure you can turn over engine. A friend of mine sold me his 340 Dart and had removed the plugs and engine was solid frozen. I had to bang each piston with a rubber mallet to get it apart. The other thing if it was a racer may have high gears in...
