B to gen 2 hemi swap e-body thread?

K frame and motor mounts swap and it is all bolt in. Or, some Schumacher conversion (or whatever they call themselves today) mounts onto the std V8 K Frame could be used. However, you would need to modify the #1 Hemi Header tube slightly.

I had to change the starter battery cable, and it is pricey, the bracket that bolts to the block that holds the cable and depending on what manifold maybe throttle bracket and throttle spring bracket. I did have a 440 in before the Hemi, but the above from it didn't work for me. Car is 71 Cuda original 4 speed and I went with the Kiesler 5 speed when I put the hemi in. Engine is a 472 crate from Mopar and I have about 20,000 miles on it. I also went with the stock cast iron manifolds to eliminate any header issues. Swap was done in 2002, and I used a Hemi K frame that was done by Hemispherical Products.

Lots of little things can cause some real headaches. Make sure that the conversion kit or K member that you choose properly locates the engine. There is almost no room for error. Choose your passenger side valve cover carefully, again due to possible clearance issues. Do you have a power brake booster?

I almost went with an aluminum block again. But I don't live far from the hiway and like to jump on it as soon as I turn onto it. Due to it's greater expansion over iron, it is best to have an aluminum engine fully up to temp before pushing it. So, I went with an iron block this time. Man, that thing is HEAVY.

I have 2 1/4" TTIs. I wouldn't do that again. Just too tight everywhere and hits in a few places. Manifolds or maybe the 2 1/8" tubes. And TTI's coating SUCKS. Won't last. Get uncoated and send them to one of the reputable coaters.
