Gear hunting and major vibration in dash/wheel

I just got the car back after replacing the B&M Shifter assembly with a stock OE 1970 slapstick and linkage. Prior to this, the car had a major issue in the rear which ended up being a bump stop issue, but it had made the vibrations and gear hunting less noticeable simply because it was a wreck...

Terrible ride quality - rear end clunks and bangs

What should I be looking at for suspension issues in the rear? Even driving over a sewer lid feels like I hit a pothole in the back end. A lot of clunking when over bumps, uneven pavement and just overall rough drive. Front end feels fine. Originally I thought that something was clunking in the...

    3.23 or 3.55 gears

Currently running 3.91's with a 440-6 and 26" tires. Car hits around 4200 RMP at 60-65 (speedo is slightly off so not exactly sure). Looking at either 3.55 or 3.23. What are others experiences that have a similar setup. I am leaning to the 3.55 as it isn't really a highway car, might see highway...

    Runs rough in Reverse Gear

'71 440-6 727 Auto. Car idles good (about 850-900 RPM), idles fine in drive (about 750-800 RPM), drives well (besides the late shift issue, posted on another thread). In reverse however, the car seems like it is stumbling a bit, and is also very shaky/rattly. It reminds me of a bad motor mount...

    Late shift/Hard shift

The '71 Challenger has a hard/late shift going on. 440-6, 727 Auto with a LOKAR cable (I believe, not standard mechanical linkage for sure). It drives great, but 1st to 2nd is a little late and abrupt, shifts about 15 MPH, and usually have to feather the gas very lightly to tell it to shift. 2nd...

    Hello from Washington State

Hello all! Thank you for letting me join the group. I will attempt to keep it short, but a little about myself. Im a 39 year old with no experience in the classics and carburetors. I grew up working on turbo charged VW's and 90's JDM's, so I am very excited to learn about classics and what...
