That is over spray. Car is Autumn bronze. I believe the are stainless, or aluminum? Not steel.

Lots of good info. It stated that x doesn't always mean black. I see white, and tan stripes. The one on my 71 was not black, and it didn't have a vinyl top. Seems like the stripe matched the vinyl top color. That is why I believe my stripe matched the interior color??

I believe I found a picture of the stripe that was originally on the car.

I believe it is just a pin stripe. The color helps, but what did it look like on the car. Been searching all over the net.

Didn't realize that the stripe is on the build sheet 6X, so what is the V if X is black?

It is a 71. Just remember the car in 76 it had a tan pin stripe. If x is black my memory is going bad. Need to do more research. Thanks for your help

Reason I say it is a 6 is there was never a black stripe on the car. Plus that 5 has a 6 loop at the top

I thought that too, had to take a magnifying glass to it. It definitely is a 6.
